Who We Are:

The Celtic Pipeline has been in operation since September 1997 in Edmonton, and recently
opened a second store in Calgary. The initial goal of the store was to provide the pipers,

drummers and pipe bands of Alberta with a source of knowledgeable service, quality products

and reasonable prices.

The reputation for service, quality and competitive pricing soon became known outside

Alberta, and the company now sells product and outfits bands Canada-wide.

The owner/operator of Celtic Pipeline is Arnie Stone (Edmonton store) with the Calgary store

being staffed by daughter Monica Marchi and son-in-law Garret Marchi . Arnie began his

piping career in Vancouver with the teaching of  P.M. Edmond Esson MBE and won many

solo piping prizes and band contests with the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada.

A move to Edmonton brought new piping challenges. Arnie was a founding member of the

Grade I Alberta Caledonia Pipe Band, and competed with them for many years. Upon leaving

Alberta Caledonia, Iain MacCrimmon and Arnie co-founded the Big Rock Pipe Band of

which Arnie was pipe major for many years. Following retirement from Big Rock, he was head

instructor of the Edmonton Boys Pipe Band for six years.

When the Edmonton Public School Board opened Vimy Ridge Academy in September 1999,

Arnie was approached and accepted the position of head of the pipe band option. Vimy Ridge

Academy is a Jr/Sr High School funded by the Edmonton Public School Board, and a part of

its option program offers credit in pipe band. This program has become an extremely

successful with a senior band of 18 pipers and 12 drummers. There is also an intermediate

band and a chanter & stick class; in total about 85 students.

Monica, Garret and Arnie welcome your inquires and look forward to being of service to the

piping and drumming community for many years to come.
